The man behind ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Taboo’ is creating an epic new TV series

Steven Knight, the writer behind Peaky Blinders and Taboo, is working on a huge new TV series with The Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence.

While also working on Peaky Blinders season five and the upcoming new series of Taboo, Knight has signed up to write new series See for Apple TV.

As Deadline reports, See looks set to be an “epic, world-building drama set in the future”. It will consist of eight episodes and will have Knight and Lawrence as executive producers alongside Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo.

While the new series of ‘Peaky Blinders‘ is currently being written with a release date for 2019 in mind, Taboo starring Tom Hardy will be returning to the BBC later this year.

Hardy last year promised an “explosive” new series. That followed reports that Hardy ‘lost £2million’ making Taboo and that the BBC were yet to confirm whether another series would be made.

The next series is coming in 2018 and will pick up as James Delaney and the ragtag band of friends and criminals try to settle in America.

In a new statement, Hardy says of the news: “We are grateful and excited to continue our relationship with the BBC and FX in contributing towards British drama. Fantastic news.“
