This football manager is a fan of Pale Waves

Former Sunderland and Man City manager Peter Reid has praised Pale Waves on Twitter, expressing his desire to see the band live.

The Manchester band and The 1975 label mates are preparing to release their debut EP ‘All The Things I Never Said’ in March, having recently been shortlisted in the BBC Sound of 2018 poll.

Having seemingly just come across the band’s music, Reid – whose last managerial job was coaching Mumbai City in 2014 – took to Twitter to say that he liked the band, despite not knowing “much about them”. See that tweet below.

Fans swiftly pointed out to Reid that the band had a gig at London’s Lexington venue on Thursday night (January 11).

Reid then replied (although he seemingly directed his response to the wrong tweeter), saying: “Not in London, unfortunately, sure I’ll catch them soon.”

Pale Waves have not yet responded to the news of their new famous fan.

Frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie spoke to NME last year, saying of her musical inclinations: “I just love pop music, and when it makes you feel something, it’s even better.”

Of debut album plans, Baron-Gracie said: “With the album, I think we’re just going to show another side to us which is a lot more emotional and not as – I don’t know how to put it… Just, like, a bit more intense.”
